So without further ado lets see the products I have been using nonstop with amazing results.
Table of Contents
1. Hair Care
Starting from the top, the hair care. I know internet is bombarded with information like, the pregnant mom’s hair become soft and shiny. It grows quickly. It becomes perfect etc. But not everyone is that lucky and I am one of them. My Hair during my pregnancy become dry and dull. There were growth but breakage too. Like everyone I too blame the hormones. But I also think diet plays a vital role. Diet should contain vital vitamins, proteins and minerals to keep hair healthy. I suggest you to check my earlier post to get a sneak peak to my Pregnancy Diet Guidelines. To summarize, I included Pulses, beetroot, Carrot, Milk, pumpkin, Spinach to my diet plan. As far as products are concerned below are my holy grail products which helped me a lot to fight the damaged hair problem –
- Coconut Oil – I trust a good old coconut oil to rescue my damaged hair. It is light weight and easily absorbed. I oil my hair twice a week with light pressure. Once done I wrap my head with warm towel for 30 minutes. It brings the shine back to my hair and made it soft. Below are few coconut oils I have used over time which might help you as well.
2. Shampoo and conditioner
Now I am not very choosy about shampoos. Why, because I don’t keep it longer on my hair while washing. Afterall shampoo is to clean the dirts from hair. So my basic requirement is just to use a sulfate free shampoo. In market there are plenty of sulfate free shampoos. And I don’t like to spend much in shampoos. My All time favorite shampoos are – TRESemme , Mamaearth Onion Shampoo , Loreal shampoo, Mama Earth Conditioners.
2. Face Care
During pregnancy we become so worried about different issues like own health and baby’s well being, we often forget to take care of our skin. In most of the women during pregnancy there are dark patches on the face and neck skin. Its is called melasma. And it quite common in women. This increases if you are exposed to Sun and pollution. Few women including me gets a dark round patch on our nose. Few Women also suffers from Acne. Really as women so many issues and challenges we face everyday and still carry on with our duties. I like to keep things simple since I am already working and I need to take care of my family and home and my health issues. I have a simple CTM routine (Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing) with added Serum and Sunscreen. I have been following this routine since the beginning of my pregnancy and I have the most glowing skin now. With very minor dark patches and no acne at all.
- CTM – For cleansing I use mild cleanser or Face wash on evening time. On mornings I prefer to clean my face with cold splash of water. because I like to keep my natural oils on face. For Toning of skin, I use only 2 products which tightens my pores and make my skin squeaky clean. Plum Green tea Toner, Face Shop Toner. For Moisturizing, In winter I used Kumkumadi Tailam and Serum . In Summer I use The Face shop Moisturizer. Plum Green Tea Moisturizer.
3. Pregnancy Stretch Mark Care
I have heard few people are lucky enough to not get any stretch marks during pregnancy. Either they ate genetically blessed or has good skin care plans. Clearly I am not the one with blessed genes, so I need to take care of my skin to avoid stretch marks. I believe in minimalism and less spending over skin care products. So I use the coconut oil and The Mom co stretch marks cream on my belly. My husband has gifted me a The Moms Co pregnancy skin care kit and I love every pro
ducts. Although if you are tight on budget, you can totally go for Coconut oil, it does miracles to skin.
Below are the products I have mentioned –
4. Foot Care
Foot care is an essential part of pregnancy. Many women have achy and swollen feet during 2nd and 3rd trimester. Although I don’t face any such issues. But I believe better precaution is required to avoid this. I made sure to cut down salt from my diet to great extent to avoid Water retention. Also I made sure to do light exercises like walking, foot rotation to keep things mobile. I don’t do pedicure by myself as it puts pressure on my growing belly. Instead I invested in a callus remover which works beautifully without much effort. Also for moisturizing I trust in good old Vaseline. It works wonders. I clean my feet, remove calluses, put on some Vaseline, wear socks and go to sleep. This is my everyday routing. This simple care makes my feet soft.
Below are the products mentioned above –
5. Special Mention – Sunscreen and Serums
Sunscreen and Serums is worth of special mention. Both are equally necessary for pregnant moms. I use 2 sunscreens alternatively based on my skin condition. If my screen feels dry I use 82e sunscreen by Deepika Padukone. And If I feel Oily I use Lotus Gel Sunscreen or Mama earth Gel sunscreen.
For Serum I stick to 2 serums , one vitamin c to add that glow and remove dark patches from skin. The other one is Kumkumadi tailam Serum by Ayuga for glow and calm down my skin.
